After this year’s (marathon) seven week trip to Eastern Europe and my (enjoyable) five day stopover in Singapore, I wanted to keep next year’s trip shorter and closer to home.
While I’ve fallen in love with Europe (who hasn’t?), I’d forgotten how much I also loved Asia. I wanted to go somewhere where it’s not to hard too travel around by myself. And I wanted to have a “different” cultural experience.
So… where to go? (And you’ve probably figured it out already.)
Drum roll, please.
Japan. Yes, Japan. In April. Cherry blossom time.
I’m taking a self-guided tour through On The Go Tours, sourced by my fabulous travel agent – Angela D – from Phil Hoffman Travel.
What does self-guided mean, I hear you ask? Basically, my accommodation and transport between cities is organised, as well as my transfers, and I will have the services of my very own guide in both Tokyo and Kyoto. I get to choose what activities I do in each city and there is on-the-ground support if I need it. And I don’t have to worry about synching my annual leave with set tour dates.
From where I sit, it’s the best of both worlds. And I’m very much looking forward to the adventure 🙂
